Who is responsible?

Nicole Kirt, the community’s founder and organiser, is responsible for this interest list for Queer Paddlers Club, an informal community developing its plans. Contact [email protected] about your information.

What we collect and why

We collect your email address, your UK nation and broad region if you choose to provide them, and a record of when and how you consented. We use these to manage the interest list, understand where there is interest in building community, and send the occasional QPC updates you asked for. Nation and region are optional; you can leave them blank or choose “Prefer not to say”. We do not ask for a postcode or precise location. Registering is optional. It is not club membership or a trip booking.

The list records interest in an LGBT+ paddling community. We do not ask for or use it to infer your sexual orientation or gender identity. We do not publish the list, sell it, or use it for another organiser’s marketing.

Your consent and choices

We rely on your consent to store your registration, understand broad community interest and send updates. We record your interest when you submit the form with the consent box selected. If we send updates in future, they will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also contact us to withdraw consent, object to marketing, or ask for deletion. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use.

Who handles the information

The organiser can access the responses privately in Tally, our form provider. Tally stores form responses encrypted in Europe using its hosting providers. We may export your registration to a restricted register or move it to a future email service for the same QPC purposes. It is not shared with other members or imported into our Git repository. Privacy enquiries sent to our contact address are handled using Google Workspace.

Tally’s form-response storage is in Europe. Website, CAPTCHA and email infrastructure from Cloudflare and Google may process technical information internationally, including in the United States. Those providers describe their use of the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual safeguards in the supplier information below.

Supplier information: Tally’s data handling, Google’s privacy policy, Google’s transfer safeguards, and Cloudflare’s privacy policy and transfer safeguards. Contact us for details of the safeguards applying to your information.

How long we keep it

We review the register at least annually and remove registrations after 12 months unless you renew your interest. If you withdraw consent, we remove you from the active register and keep only the minimum record needed to honour your request not to be contacted. Deleted Tally responses may remain in its recovery system and backups for up to 90 days. Privacy enquiries are retained only as long as needed to resolve the request and evidence our response.

Website security

Cloudflare hosts this page and protects it from attacks. Tally’s form uses Google reCAPTCHA to reduce automated submissions. Google and Cloudflare process technical information such as IP addresses and browser details for security; we rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe, reliable website for this security purpose. Registration does not trigger an automatic email to you, and we do not track email opens. Automated bot checks do not decide membership or access to paddling activities. We do not add advertising trackers or collect names, health details, emergency contacts or paddling ability through this form.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct your information, request erasure or restriction, or receive a portable copy where applicable. Email [email protected]. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are concerned about how your information is handled.

Future changes

This notice covers the interest list and this landing page. We will explain any new use before it starts and ask for fresh consent where needed. Membership, bookings and any separate paid service would have their own privacy information.
